Family, Individual & Child Counseling
Certified
Child & Family Investigator since 2009
Child & Family Investigators are court appointed professionals who "investigate, report, and make recommendations" regarding the best interests of children in domestic relation cases when the children's parents or guardians have been unable to come to agreements themselves.

Jessica can not be retained as a CFI if your family is already working with her in a therapeutic setting. The process of selecting a CFI is typically court appointed however there are circumstances where families obtain a CFI on their own.

If you have previously worked with Jessica and she was the CFI on your case, she will not be able to work with you in a therapeutic setting due to statutes regarding dual relationships.

Please seek therapy outside of obtaining her as a CFI, as many problems arise during this stressful process.
Children are often caught up in the middle of divorce disputes. Yet their needs and desires are too often lost in the wake of each parent's belief they are fighting for what is in their children's best interest.

Colorado has several options to specifically address the needs of families involved in a divorce. One of the best options is having the court appoint a Child & Family Investigator (CFI), formerly called a Special Advocate.
