ADDICTIONS COUNSELING:
Jessica has been trained with over 5,000 hours in Certified Addictions Counseling. She understands that addictions are not only a disease but are also something that clients can overcome.
Some of the areas Jessica has worked with clients include, alcohol addiction, drug addiction including prescription drugs, anorexia, bulimia, over eating & sexual addictions. Each addiction serves its purpose in a clients life and it is her job to work with the client, in an empathetic manner, to help them on their journey of understanding how the addiction occurred and whether or not the client is ready to work towards "sobriety".
GRIEF & LOSS:
Jessica was trained in Jungian counseling around grief and loss issues at Regis University, while working towards her certification in Transpersonal Psychology. As human beings we are surrounded by loss on a daily basis. Such personal losses could include; job loss, foreclosure, loss of a loved one or a family pet & infertility. Each area mentioned falls under the difficult spectrum of a life loss. This is Jessica's greatest area of passion because she feels that as individuals we are all connected.
She has volunteered with organizations including Mount Evans Hospice and Home Health Care over the past few years and continues to be a "buddy" at Camp Comfort over the summer. For more information on their program please visit their website if your child has experienced the loss of a loved one and you are interested in receiving more information on their grief camp offering for children. ADOLESCENT COUNSELING:
For the past four years Jessica has specialized in working with families who have teenagers that are in legal trouble. She works with solution focused techniques that many families have given her feedback on thru confidential client satisfaction surveys. Therapists do not often check in with their clients on how they are doing and also are not known for following up after a case is closed. This is something that Jessica believes is important in order to gain the trust of families she works with and to follow up on how things have changed with the teen in the home, after therapy is complete. For more information please contact her for an initial session.
